Kristina Schaefer is EVP, chief risk & administrative officer and general counsel for First Bank & Trust.  Ms. Schaefer serves as the primary legal resource for the organization and oversees the risk management and human resources functions.  

Prior to joining First Bank & Trust, Ms. Schaefer practiced law, where she was a member of the financial institutions practice group.  She is a member of several local, state, and national professional organizations, including the South Dakota Bankers Association, and has served on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Community Bank advisory council.  Ms. Schaefer regularly coaches Girls on the Run, serves on the Helpline Center board of directors, and volunteers as a mentor for several local programs.  She achieved the professional designations of Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP).  

Emily McCormick is Vice President of Editorial & Research for Bank Director. Emily oversees research projects, from in-depth reports to Bank Director’s annual surveys on M&A, risk, compensation, governance and technology. She also manages content for the Bank Services Program, including Bank Director’s Online Training Series. In addition to speaking and moderating discussions at Bank Director’s in-person and virtual events, Emily writes and edits for Bank Director magazine, BankDirector.com and Bank Director’s weekly newsletter, The Slant. She started her career in the circulation department at the Knoxville News-Sentinel and graduated summa cum laude from The University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and International Business.
