Community Bank Deposits Show Stability Small banks have mostly been left out of the large-scale deposit loss that has happened across the banking industry over the last four quarters, according to May research from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. While deposit movement came into acute focus in March, an analysis of commercial bank balance sheets shows that billions of deposits had already left the banking industry in the second half of 2022 and the beginning of 2023.
