Banks often pursue a niche as a way to develop a competitive edge, reaching a defined market that is neither too narrow nor too broad. Lee Wetherington, senior director of corporate strategy at Jack Henry, says a financial institution doesn’t need to overhaul its entire tech stack to successfully bank a particular niche – that is, if it has an open banking platform that eases integration with fintech partners.
