A Front Row Seat on Banking’s Consolidation

H. Rodgin Cohen has advised on some of the largest bank deals in U.S. history. In this edition of the Slant Podcast, Cohen discusses how consolidation has changed the banking industry, and looks back on some of the major bank deals that he has advised on and what he considers to be most notable about them today. Cohen also addresses the impact that consolidation has had on community banks, which he believes are vital to the health of the country’s financial ecosystem, and advocates for creative solutions to the burdens of technological innovation and regulatory compliance at a time when scale to efficiently fund those activities has become increasingly important.
