Bank Director’s annual Bank Audit & Risk Committees Conference focused on accounting, risk and regulatory issues – aligned with the informational needs of a board’s audit committee, board’s risk committee, CFO, CRO, chairman, CEO and internal auditors.

Whether it is a complex product, new service or emerging line of business that presents a significant opportunity – while posing significant risk – to an institution, this year’s program examined the many board-level issues being faced by financial institutions of all sizes.

Pre-Conference Opportunities:
Bank Audit & Risk Committees Peer Exchanges
Exclusive to Bank Audit Committee Chairs and Bank Risk Committee Chairs, Bank Director hosted these popular peer exchanges the day before the annual conference began.  Modeled upon our annual Bank Chairman/CEO Peer Exchange, small groups of bankers – along with one or two outside advisors – met in closed door, off-the-record peer groups for candid discussions about various hot topics.  Peer groups were divided based on the committee they serve, (risk vs. audit), asset size and type of institution, (public vs. private).

Back by Popular Demand:  Bank Audit & Risk Committees Primer
Updated and revised!  The Bank Audit Committee Primer has consistently been one of our most well received programs!  Pat Langiotti, Chair of the Director’s Enterprise Risk Committee and former Audit Committee Chair for National Penn Bancshares, Inc., and Larry Schwartz, Audit Committee Chair for First Virginia Community Bank, teamed up to provide an up-to-the minute, hands-on, interactive overview for both newer Audit and Risk Committee members and chairpersons, as well as for those more seasoned members and chairs.

Cyber Security Workshop
While many individual directors and officers identify cyber risk as a top issue, few bank boards spend time addressing scenarios or developing plans should a hack, breach or attack occur.  NEW at this year’s conference, Sai Huda, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Enterprise, Governance, Risk & Compliance (EGRC) Solutions at FIS, provided an afternoon series of simulations designed to walk board members and executives through real-life scenarios.  Prior to, and following, each simulation, attendees received an executive-level presentation that laid out current best practices to help boards better understand, and prepare for, cyber security issues.
