Bank Director was proud to host the 6th annual Bank Audit Committee Conference held June 7-8, 2012 at the JW Marriott in Chicago, IL.

With over 350 in attendance, bankers and advisers from across the country discussed new accounting rules, increased risks and how a highly regulated industry creates significant challenges for audit committee members, as well as members of management who work closely with them.  This two-day conference focused on important accounting, risk and regulatory issues facing bank boards of public and private financial institutions.  Leading experts, seasoned professionals and experienced bank officers and directors shared past experiences, best practices, and valuable firsthand information specifically related to banks.

Pre-Conference Bank Audit Committee Primer

Prior to the conference on Wednesday, June 6 audit committee chairs and members participated in an interactive, hands-on workshop designed to prepare them on how to function effectively in today's challenging audit environment.

Designed for experienced audit committee chairs and members, the Bank Audit Committee Peer Exchange offered those attendees an opportunity to share challenges and discuss solutions with their peers in an off-the-record, closed door setting.  Attendees were broken into peer groups to allow for relevant, candid discussions.
