New York – July 14, 2009 – In honor of its late publisher, Bank Director magazine is announcing the premiere of the L. William Seidman Lecture Series during its Acquire or Be Acquired Conference at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix Jan. 31 – Feb. 2, 2010.
Series guest lecturers will include current regulators or government officials who embody the qualities Mr. Seidman exemplified in his long life of public service. A former presidential adviser and chairman of the FDIC and RTC, Mr. Seidman was highly regarded for his wisdom and understanding of global financial markets and for his industry leadership during the S&L crisis in the 1980s. He served as Bank Director’s publisher and wrote a regular column for the magazine for 15 years.
A cofounder of the Acquire or Be Acquired Conference, Mr. Seidman shared his vast knowledge of the financial industry and his candor on political and regulatory issues as a regular speaker. Year after year, his industry overviews and no-holds-barred Q&A presentations were ranked one of the most popular sessions for bankers attending the three-day conference.
Since 1995, the Bank Director Acquire or Be Acquired Conference has been widely regarded as the financial services industry’s premier M&A and growth event and is attended each year by more than 500 bank executive officers and directors. This year’s conference will mark the 16th annual gathering of the nation’s top investment bankers, legal experts, and consultants on bank mergers, acquisitions, and growth strategies.
