Bank Director magazine and NASDAQ OMX are proud to present the 3rd Annual Bank Audit Committee Conference June 11 – 12, 2009, at the Marriott Chicago Downtown in Chicago, IL.
This two-day conference focuses on important accounting issues facing bank management and boards. Leading experts, seasoned professionals, and experienced directors shared their experiences, best practices and excellent first-hand information specifically related to banks.
New for 2009 – we will hold an Audit Committee Primer the day before the event on Wednesday, June 10. This Primer is designed for new audit committee members, as well as for those more seasoned audit committee members who might enjoy taking advantage of this unique opportunity. Participation in the Primer will provide excellent preparation and context, enhancing the learning experience for attendees at the conference.

Pre-Conference Audit Committee Primer
The Primer will be led by Larry Schwartz, a Certified Public Accountant, and Pat Langiotti, a registered Professional Management Consultant. Both Larry and Pat are experienced bank directors and audit committee chairpersons, with hands-on experience with large, public companies; smaller, private companies, and with many nonprofit boards. Larry and Pat will provide an interactive learning environment where audience participation is encouraged and all questions are welcomed. Topics will include:
- Audit Committee Meeting Structure
- Characteristics of a High Performing Audit Committee
- Overview of Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the Audit Committee
- Overview of Audit Committee Relationships with Other Board Committees, Bank Management, Regulators and Examiners, and External Vendors and Service Providers.
